Enrollment Requirements -  Customers who are currently with a 3rd party supplier may not enroll unless they cancel with their supplier. This is to ensure they receive a true 20% savings versus the utilities basic generation service rate. Customers can enroll with a 3rd party supplier AFTER they enroll in Community Solar.

For LMI Only:

Low-Income Subscriber” means a Subscriber who has a gross annual household income at or below 175% of the federal poverty level. either meets NJ LMI income requirements or they are enrolled in an accepted government assistance program.

The following Government Assistance Programs are APPROVED to receive the LMI discount off their electric bill with NO SSN needed.  The customer will need to provide a copy of their government issued document or ID Card to prove they are enrolled in one of these programs.    

Acceptable proof is a clear copy of their acceptance letter OR Bill Copy showing the program.

• Low Income Home Energy Assistance program (LIHEAP) 
• Comfort Partners 
• Lifeline Utility Program 
• Free and Reduced Meals – Reduced meals 
• Free and Reduced Meals – Free Meals 
• Head Start 
• Medicaid 
• Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) 
• Documentation of affordable housing residency as long as Housing Authority certifies that 85% of residents qualify as low- income  

If none of these can be provided, then we ask the customer to upload into our secure portal items such as W2s, tax returns, paystubs, or other forms of proof that they meet the income standards for low income for the applicable law of the state.
